The Blue Building Gallery was pleased to bring June Leaf in Mabou Since 1969, a major exhibition of work by artist June Leaf to Halifax for the first time.
Curated by The Blue Building founder and director, Emily Falencki, June Leaf in Mabou Since 1969 debuted at the Inverness County Center for the Arts (ICCA) in September 2022. At ICCA, the exhibition received record-breaking attendance, debuting never-before-seen drawings, paintings and sculptures spanning more than 50 years of Leaf’s prolific and influential career.
Centering on landscapes, figuration and portraiture, the exhibition shared Leaf’s deep desire to show how much Cape Breton has meant to her life and art practice.
